Primary Miliary Tuberculosis of the Liver with Jaundice

Abstract
|
|
|
Tuberculosis of the liver with jaundice was rarely reported. At laparotomy a 26 year old jaundiced
male was suspected to have miliary tuberculosis exclusively involving liver and the diagnosis was
confirmed histopathologically.
With antituberculous chemotherapy the patient recovered dramatically from grave toxic state in posto
perative days.
THe prognosis in miliary tuberculosis of the liver need not be uniformly poor if early daignosis and
adeguate therapy were undertaken.
A brief review on the literature was done.
